#3 - Attend Drums Along the Rockies

I have to admit that I have always wanted to attend a drumline competition after seeing the movie "Drumline". I didn't have time to travel to the south to see an actual college competition, but I remembered that Drums Along the Rockies was in town (Loveland and Invesco) and it fell within my timeline to complete 40 items.

I definitely thought this was one that Robert would not want to attend, so I invited my friend Melissa to go with her kiddos. Getting ready to leave he said he would go, holy cow - he told me he is going to try to be involved with as many items as he can over my 40 days. Ah, such a supportive husband. Well, until we got there - ha ha!! After the first performance, Robert leaned over and said, "Did you know this is what it was going to be like?" Not his favorite thing.

It wasn't exactly what I expected...I was VERY much enjoying myself because I simply like events and checking out new things! The kids were not much into it and Melissa was happy because she had beer - hee hee. There was a rain / lightning delay and then it got late, so we didn't stay until the end but we did see the Academy perform from Arizona and they were SPECTACULAR. I will have to go and try to find youtube videos of the other corps, including the Blue Knights.

Someday, I will make it down South to watch a big time drumline competition, but Drums Along the Rockies was good enough!
