Halloween 2008
Halloween is always so much fun, because I have two friends that go ALL OUT for Halloween and host annual parties that are typically the same weekend. One on Friday and one on Saturday. I would always attend and have fun, but now with kiddos the parties are even more fun for me.
Kim McIrvin hosts a pumpkin carving party on Friday, she and her husband Jason, decorate the house, set up tables all over for people to eat and carve pumpkins with their families. This year Kim served chili with all the fixings and mac and cheese for the kiddos. She always has cool Halloween gear for the kid and a goodie bag at the end of the night. Katharine and Jackson especially liked the "guts" of the pumpkin this year.
Then on Saturday Lori Hendrick hosts her annual Halloween extravaganza! She has 2 - 3 kinds of chili with all the fixings, mummy hotdogs for the kiddos and appetizers galore. This year my favorite app was the edamame that was truly the best I have ever had. There were crafts downstairs for all the kids, but my kiddos (including Jackson because he went with us) were into the playroom and all it had to offer. We left a bit early but not before participating in the pinata, oh boy was that fun. Katharine and Jackson both talked about it all day the next day.
This year Katharine was pink panther (a costume my mom made for me when I was a kiddo) for two parties and Cinderella for two parties as well. Lincoln was a giraffe and bumble bee. They both looked too cute and on Halloween night we were with the Rose's and Katharine didn't want to go trick or treating but stayed up until 12:30am playing with all the kids. The dads had their own fun downstairs being boys and the girls stayed upstairs and just chilled. It's was as good as it gets!!
