Katharine had a "Happy Visit" to the dentist recently where they didn't actually clean her teeth, they just put her in the chair with a bib on and made it go up and down. She got to use the mirror on her teeth, they sprayed water into her hand and she got to use "Mr. Thirsty" to suck it all up. Then she got a new toothbrush, a prize from the treasure chest and watched while I got my teeth cleaned. This was all to prepare her for the next time when she will actually get her teeth cleaned. The third visit the dentist will actually do an exam and hopefully all this will help keep her unafraid of the dentist. Or she will be like me and LOVE going to the dentist and wish that she could have her teeth cleaned 6 times a year!!
