Katharine and Robert in Tropical Discovery - our first visit inside after countless trips to the zoo. They don't allow strollers in the display, so it makes it a bit tough for a family with two little ones. But tonight was the perfect night for it because it was much less busy than when we normally go. Katharine really enjoyed the snakes. If Robert wins the lottery, he said that we will have our own tropical discovery at the house. I just hope he wins the lottery!!
Katharine watching the polar bears, her favorite of recent times. She also rode the train and the merry-go-round this evening...a first for her on both.
Now for the funny story ~ notice the extra large bottle for Lincoln...
I race home from work on a Thursday so we can go to member's night, a very special treat. I take a box of work stuff out (with my wallet in the box) and throw it in the garage. We throw the kids in the car along with the stroller and head off for a great evening. Upon arriving to the zoo, Lincoln starts to fuss (he's hungry AGAIN) and then Robert and I realize there is not a bottle in the diaper bag. No problem, we'll buy one...my wallet is in the garage and Robert forgot his so we have no money. Luckily, I had brought Katharine's pop top water bottle. So I made a bottle for Lincoln and started dripping the formula into his mouth...HE IS NOT HAPPY!!
So my husband, Robert MACGYVER Gentry, asks me to bite a hole in Lincoln's binky and then he forces the binky onto the pop top water bottle and we put the contraption into Lincoln's mouth...sweet mary...IT WORKS!! We may have looked a little ghetto, and like we were feeding Lincoln from the biggest bottle on the planet, but IT WORKED. Evening saved, we had a great time at the zoo and stayed until almost 9pm enjoying ourselves.

That picture and story about Lincoln's bottle is SO hilarious!!! I showed the picture to Steve and of course he said, "that is something I would think of!"
